Empart was founded by Jossy and Jenni Chacko in 1998, in their spare bedroom in Melbourne, Australia. Today Empart is an international organisation that offers hope and transformation to thousands of people every day.
Driven by their own personal experiences and a shared Christian faith, Jossy and Jenni believe that true transformation takes place from the inside out. As a person hears and understands about Jesus they begin a journey that will transform every aspect of life – socially, economically, relationally and spiritually. And the transformation will spread to other individuals, families and groups -until entire communities begin to change for good!
Empart’s focus is on India, with the work spreading into other nearby nations. Jenni’s particular passion is for the women of India. Under her leadership, and with the support of countless like-minded women, Empart is transforming women in India through:
- “Sister, You are Special” conferences – teaching women that they are precious and valued, so they can say and live out the truth, ”I am special!”
- One year training for “Key Women” – teaching women to unlock doors of opportunity for other women within their communities
- Leadership Training Retreats – customised for women in India who are in community leadership roles
- Tailoring Centres – offering a 6-month tailoring course and a treadle sewing machine to help each woman get started in her own micro-enterprise.
Jenni and Jossy have four children, about 10 chickens, 6 goats, 2 cows and a dog. Home is a bustling, loving chaos in Melbourne, Australia.
